    Help with device value comparison

I have two devices I want to compare: Upstairs Humidity and Guest Bath Humidity.

I created an event that compares:
If Guest Bath Humidity > Upstairs Humidity +8 then control a device...

I cannot get it to fire. Any suggestions?

a value comparison trigger will fire if the condition was false, then one of the two value changes and makes the condition become true.

so to test your trigger you need to make sure that "Guest Bath Humidity < Upstairs Humidity + 8" before the change

Okay, that I understand. What I am trying to achieve is turn on the exhaust fan if the bathroom humidity is 8% over the upstairs humidity. Turn it off it bath humidity drops to within 8% over upstairs humidity. Any suggestions?

      Thanks,

      Michael

I tried the same syntax and that works for me.

        Cheers

          Al,

Which syntax are you referring to?

          Thanks,

Hi Michael, the same one in your first post: "If Guest Bath Humidity > Upstairs Humidity +8". The event triggers when that becomes true.

            Cheers

According to Spud Upstairs + 8 needs to be less than Guest Bath before it can trigger and Upstairs and Gurst Bath are often within. Percent of one another when no shower.
