I'm getting frustrated in getting started with HomeSeer.
I found my Antivirus Bitdefender was blocking HomeSeer files.
I have Whitelisted all HomeSeer files.
    I have Uninstalled HomeSeer.
I have downloaded & Installed the latest trial version.
I'm getting an error during startup.
I see HomeSeer installed the Scheduler.dll into:
    C:\Programs\HomeSeer\Scheduler.dll
Why isn't the program looking for Scheduler.dll where it installed it?

I have heard that bitdefender can be the culprit no matter what you tell it. I don't know if it will work but you could try shutting down bitdefender completely. Make sure it is disabled completely for the entire time you are installing HS.

Then try running the msi file again. If it comes up as repair as a selection then select that. If not just re-install and reboot the computer after it is done and restart HS.

        I rebooted.
        I copied Scheduler.dll from:
        C:\Programs\HomeSeer\Scheduler.dll
        To:
        C:\Programs\HomeSeer\html\bin\Scheduler.dll
I started HomeSeer and did not get any errors this time.
        I installed the HomeSeer Z-Wave S2 Support.
        I configured a network interface.
I unplugged the Z-Stick from the USB port.
I pressed the button on the stick. It was blinking blue. As expected.
I held it close to a Leviton light switch and turned on the light.
I expected the Z-Stick to stop blinking blue and stay solid. It didn't.
        What should I do next?

        Thank you,

What does the manual say for the light switch? Sometimes you have to turn on, off, back on.

You did this right? To include a new Z-Wave device into the network, simply go to the device with the Z-Stick and press the button on the device you wish to include (on,off,on). The blue LED on the Z-Stick will blink fast during a network neighbor discovery and stay solid for 2 seconds to indicate successful inclusion of the device into the network. The blue LED will then return to blinking slowly, indicating readiness for further device inclusions. This can be missed if you are not watching carefully. I have missed it before.
Repeat for each device you wish to include.
or it will automatically exit after 30 seconds of inactivity.

I think I may have paired the Z-Stick with the light. What do I need to do in HomeSeer to show it?

            Thanks,

OK, great! Forget the last post! Did you plug the z-stick back into the usb port? I think you would go to the UI and see if it is there. Might take a few seconds. Click show all in upper right corner if not.

Here is a manual to the z-stick for other commands in case you don't have it.

                  Thank you for the manual.

How do I get HomeSeer to show me the lights it paired with?

After plugging back in the z-stick, give it a minute, and then shut down HS and re-start it? What do you see when you open the UI? Don't forget to click on Show All.

I assuming you have already added the z-wave device, in difference to installing the plug-in, and in the Controller Management screen select the twisty beside the z-wave device to expose more controls. If you haven’t you’ll need to add new controller as previously discussed at the start of this post.

In the Action Menu > Import Nodes from Controller.

In the future you may want to try adding a device without unplugging the z-stick and this option is available from the action menu as well.

In addition, HST have a mobile app for IOS and Android devices called “Z-Tools +” and thus allow you to conduct a number of functions, add, remove, remotely rather directly on the HS UI.
Thanks brientim, I guess I was going to slow. I thought maybe if it rebooted OK then the next steps that you gave him would go smoother. I just hadn't got there yet.

No such thing as too slow, it is whatever pace you feel comfortable doing. Even though the learning curve is steep first time, it does become easier

Well I guess we got off the path here. I am pretty sure I am OK with HS but we need to help docfxit.
Is the HST Quick Overview for docfxit because I read it over a year ago. I think I am good.

Oh , I did not take notice of who responded and I thought I was responding to docfxit. I think my medication is working quite well.
