    Hardware failure

Apologies if this has already been covered, I looked but didn't find.
A couple of times recently I have lost comms with my UZB usb interface. Seems the only way to get it back is to unplug and reinsert.
It had got me thinking what happens if the stick dies.
I have done a backup of z-wave through Controller Management.
Should I have a failure can I simply plugin a new usb stick and 'Restore a network to this interface'?
If so does the stick have to be the same as the previous?
    Cheers

Yes that is true. The backup only has the node information, not the routing info. The latter would need to be rebuilt via the optimization procedure.

The new controller does not have to be the same type as the old one.
