    My EZFlora keeps inhibiting...

Every few weeks my EZflora stops working. The last time it did this I logged in to it with the SHN tool and found that it was inhibited. Clicking INHIBIT OFF fixed the issue. But what is causing this? Is there some way that your plugin could check for this and stop it from happening?

    See Screenshot

    Thanks CM

I'll look into this issue this weekend and let you know if I can find anything.

I verified that this bit is set automatically by the EZFlora device in response to the rain sensor input. When rain is detected, the EZFlora will inhibit and then re-enabled when the rain sensor no longer detects rain. The plugin does not ever send a request to inhibit the EZFlora.

Tony, you might want to try the restore factory Settings (after writing all of your settings down so you can re program them). I had a few bizarre problems with mine when I first got them and had to factory reset one of them. I know its a cliche answer but a reset should be eliminated as something to try.

Thanks, I will factory reset. I do not have a rain sensor connected. I use my weather station to control such things.

If you do perform a factory reset using the SHN Utility, be sure to check the "valve broadcast" option and save after doing the reset. This will allow the EZFlora to send the broadcast messages that the EZFlora plugin uses.

So I contacted SHN and they claim that the only way that my device can inhibit is if the device is receiving instructions via insteon to do so. I have my doubts but I figure I will post this just in case. It's happening every couple of days now which is very frustrating.

I'm wondering if perhaps you could add a feature that when turned on, would send the bit to un-inhibit before each event.

                  Sorry to be a pain,

Since its repeatable and somewhate predictable, can you turn up logging during the period when it occurs? If they are right (which I don't believe) the logging will catch it. If it doesn't catch it, then that assertion is wrong

This is interesting and could possibly help to identify the problem. The EZFlora will inhibit the outputs if the Rain Sensor is enabled and rain is detected. Based on the logs that were posted, the rain sensor isn't enabled and the EZFlora is not yet inhibited, but it does make me wonder why the rain sensor status is toggeling since you don't have a rain sensor connected.

These transitions show that the EZFlora is indicating a change in the sensor status:

                            10/2/2012 8:06:21 AM EZFlora Debug HSEvent EV_TYPE_GENERIC Case: Parms = 1B.02.89 01 1B 02 89 14 83 0C 23 F0 40
                            10/2/2012 8:07:54 AM EZFlora Debug HSEvent EV_TYPE_GENERIC Case: Parms = 1B.02.89 01 1B 02 89 14 83 0C 22 F0 42

I guess it is possible that the EZFlora device you are using is somewhat out of spec and the Rain Sensor line value is getting too low causing it to think that the rain sensor detected rain. If possible can you connect a pull up resistor as shown in the following guide and see if this stops the rain sensor transitions: http://www.simplehomenet.com/Downloa...ct%20Guide.pdf

I am thinking that maybe there is a glitch in the EZFlora firmware that is causing it to set the inhibit bit based on these rain sensor transitions that aren't really happening and because the signal is right on the edge it may not un-inhibit when it comes back in value? I'll also try and find a creative way of allowing the plugin to send a command to un-inhibit the EZFlora without causing problems with the rain sensor.
