    RS485 allow multiple control points?

Looking into which controlled thermostat line to go with for a currently-single-zone, but soon-to-be-multiple-zone environment.

RCS versus HAI are the two possibles.

I am moving everything critical over from my ADI environment to an Elk M1G and want it to be able to control the tstats as well. It will support both types - in 232 or 485.

As 485 is theoretically a multi-drop / P2P sort of communication environment, I'm hoping I can have HS directly talk to the tstats while the M1 does so as well.

Anyone know if this will fly? HAI versus RCS?

    Thanks!

I'm sure others will chime in but I own the RCS TX15B X10 tstat but as far as serial tstats go I would recommend the HAI line. They are cheaper and have more user configuration options. I also believe they are easier to connect via 485 than the RCS line. Hopefully someone who actually has a pair can comment though.
