    I found what i was looking for in the section below.

    the PLM is sending back a command to the plugin that i've never seen. i think Smarthome added/changed something in the Hub PLM firmware A3 which you have.

    I have a message into smarthome on this to see if they can shed some light.

        In both cases they are the Insteon Open/close Sensor Model 2843-222.

          please confirm you put the devices into linking mode (press and hold set btn for 3 secs) before attempting to register with plugin

            linking mode

            I have tried it both in linking mode and away from linking mode. I've probably made about 25 attempts. I'll try once more now in linking mode to make certain.

              That time it worked!

              Thanks for the help. This time it finally worked. Perhaps previously I was going into the mode beyond the slow blinking mode and out to the double blinking mode.

                Glad you got it working. Nice job.

                All battery operated devices must be put into "linking mode" before they can be registered. check the manual when necessary; getting into linking mode is a little different on some devices.
