    Remotec ZFM-80?

Any of you guys using this to work your gates, garage doors, etc.? Thinking about picking a couple up so I can work some events between the driveway gate, garage door and such.

Also does anyone know if it supports instant status?

I am using ZFM for lights ... I would use it for garage door etc. if it was avaiable when I did my automation stuff. Some details here:

And yes it supports instanst status.

Works great for me! Person turned me on to the ZFM-80 and I'll be ordering a few more from HS now Mark's added them to the inventory. http://board.homeseer.com/showthread...63#post1049063

My pilot test for a door was using a small magnet/reed switch; I've just bought a heavy duty garage door contact and will be connecting that to a ZFM in a few days.

I'm also going to get an Aeon Microswitch to compare the functions of both as Person has indicated it will work the same and the Aeon will be more easy to hide when I need to.

Yeah both ZFM and micro-switch should work equally well as contact closure *sensors*.

But you cannot use micro-switch as relay / contact closure OUTPUT since 120V supply is directly wired to the output inside the switch.

ZFM has output fully isolated so you can use it as a relay/contact closure.

In that sense LFM-20 and ZFM-80 have the same functionality - they are z-wave relays / CC outputs.

This is important distinction since closing garage door (not sensing) requires contact closure output that is NOT powered.
