"Happy" is probably not the right word... as it's not a happy occasion. But for those of us in the U.S., don't forget to take a moment to reflect on the solemnity of the day, especially for those who gave their lives in the pursuit of our freedom and for those family members and friends who share deeply in that sacrifice.

It is unnecessary, and sometimes unwise, to issue holiday-specific wishes, especially when the holiday calls for us to be respectful and perhaps contemplative.
