waterproof or splashproof infrared learning remote?

has anyone come across a waterproof or splashproof learning infrared remote?

I could have sworn I saw one somewhere online one time...

I just finished a new bathroom with a big tub and (soon) a tv. I mounted a j-box for an infrared receiver in the ceiling, but now I can't find a suitable remote.

If your going to that expense then why not voice commands?

      Balboa-Dolphin

This is for spas, but may work.

Not sure if any of these are "learning" though, maybe just programmable.

I took a normal remote, and "vacuum packed" it with a vacuum food sealer. Works great.

          hmmm?

          Good idea !

Here's a thought .......silicone around the 110V contacts on an appliance module and vacuum pack it (or shrink wrap it) for use outside ?

Wonder if the butcher could do this ?

            "bathroom" remote

Rupp - As for voice commands, the "Boss" says: "it's creepy", and won't allow it (although, I could sneak it in and not tell her...)

I'll definitely look into the dolphin, since it seems to be the only game in town!

            Thanks!

                Wow. That is cool...

I like the RTI software (something else to customize!)

Do you have one? If so, where did you get it?

                Thanks,

                    Commitment?

As I read the info on the RTI products, it looks like along with the software, you need an RF antenae and the control "box".

Are you going to make the full commitment to RTI for remotes? I'm guessing that the cost for just 1 remote and the associated devices to make it work could be a little steep...

Don't know, but if I need to buy more than just the remote, then I might consider another option. Does anyone know if Jacuzzi or similar make waterproof learning remotes.

                          Found it at last

I have finally found a waterproof 4 in 1 universal remote. The web adress is http://www.waterprooftv.co.uk/4in1remote.htm
. They also a do a more expensive model that will control your hot tub as well http://www.waterprooftv.co.uk/pdf/un...oat_remote.pdf
They do waterproof TV's as well

                            Waterproof Remote.

                            That's a nice looking remote.

I'll have to give them a call to see what it would cost to ship one to the US.

If you purchase one in the meantime, please post a note on how you like it!

                            Thanks,
