    Cannot read CID

    Hello there,

I am a nooby, so please forgive me if I am asking strange things.

I have setup HS2.1.117 with the Phone Software.
Have installed the HS PCI voice modem V2.

Modem is behind Siemens SX551 wich is for VOIP and ADSL

I cannot get HS to see CID's, my dect phones connected behind the HS modem can! ???
When I dial out, HS will only see the correct number when I first open the line and start punching the numbers. But if I enter the numbers and then open the line (take it of the hook) it will only see the last 3 numbers or just one.

    Any advice ??

HomeSeer phone only works with the HomeSeer modem, HAL Modem or the Way2Call modem.

I believe he said he was using the PCI modem. Ekpaco, do I read right that you're running ver 2.1.117? Am I missing something as I'm not familier with that version. Are you using the drivers provided by HS?

        Thymer,
You are correct. I totally misread his post.

I too wonder where he got this version. If it's from the FTP site, these are test versions that could do more harm than good.

          ekapco,

This has been a problem for alot of users, using the Pci modem.
          some possable causes.

Static on the phone line .
          Computer grounding issuses.
          Bad modem.

I would put in a Help ticket on this.

I was first using HS2.1.104.0 same problem so I tried the 117 to no avail.

Using the Homeseer PCI modem indeed.

            Using drivers form Homeseer.

            Will send in a Ticket.

            Thanx for your replies.

Maybe if someone else has any suggestion ??

            Please post.

try unplugging all the other phones in the house for a test. Sometimes too many phones on the circuit will drop the signal level too low.

There is just one phone and the alarm connected, so I doubt that will to many.

                But I will try.

It is one base dect phone with three handsets.

Try plugging the phone directly in to the modem, by passing the alarm conection.

Dumb question here but is CID the same in The Netherlands?

                      Think so,
Why would it be different ??
It sees the correct numbers when I dialout when I thirst take phone off the hook and then punch the numbers.

Did you try by-passing the security system and going directly into the modem from the telco?

The security system is behind the HS modem so no influence of that

I've had the same problem since May 25. I have a help desk ticket in and hopefully HS will find a problem

                              No CID w/ Way2Call & HS 2.1.115.0

                              I have the same problem as well w/ Way2Call & HS 2.1.115.0
The ONLY device on the phone line is the modem.

The CID log only 1 enrty as follows:

                              Outgoing 8/30/2006 11:24:40 PM Missing callers.log

                              Event log:
8/30/2006 11:24:40 PM Info The callers.log file is missing from the HomeSeer directory.

                              Same issues?
