    Spud is this possible?

I need to change the name of the image file everytime it changes otherwise the image is not updated in the device page because of caching.

You can get the name of the current image file by getting the Cover device string, you will get something like this:
      Code:
      <img align="absmiddle" src="[URL="http://board.homeseer.com/view-source:http://192.168.1.102:82/images/iTunesDAAP//covers/cover1.jpg"]images/iTunesDAAP//covers/cover1.jpg[/URL]"  width="128" height="128">

Ahh ok I understand. Rainmetet supports lua scripting maybe there's a way to parse that out and pull the image. If only there was a windows iTunes remote app for it but the platform only supports local control unless someone writes a plugin. If I were in Canada I'd send you a twelve pack to code it..

music played - info when using internet radio

          Hi Spud,

I listen a lot to internet radio, On iTunes the artist and title are displayed besides the station ID.

In iTunes DAAP only the Station ID is displayed when listening to Internet Radio.

Feature request: An extra device for artist and title when playing internet radio.
          Is this possible?

          Thanks in advance!

Attached example: station 101.2 The Mix , but artist and title only in iTunes

well, I have just tested with Remote on iOS (which use the same API that this plugin) and it behave the same, i.e it display the radio station only, no artist or title, so this may not be possible to get those values when playing an internet radio.

Note: it works when playing a iTunes Radio, but those are only available with a US apple ID.

              iTunes DAAP - Feature Requests

              Hi Spud,
The plugin is working very well.
Is it possible to poll the iTunes volume?
The reason I ask, if I change the volume from the HS volume device - it changes iTunes fine. If I change the volume with the apple remote app (which I use a lot) the HS devices don't update but the volume has changed.
Is there something you can add to help? I need to stop my 2 year old daughter putting it on FULL VOLUME!! [emoji23]

              Cheers
              J

Edit: seems to be working Ok now, maybe intermittent that it doesn't always work. Any ideas??

how about having a way to better select music via devices/hstouch.

hell half the time right now, the play list selector doesnt populate

i'd love to be able to scroll through all my songs from hstouch

                  Playlists Not Crossing

                  Hey Spud,

I am a recent HS3 convert from HS2. The controls in HS2 were great. The one for HS3 is a lot different, but it does work great. The only thing I am having an issue with are two things:
                  1. My playlists are not crossing over to the plug in with the exception of one.
                  2. I decided not to pull the 22.94gb of music to my HS3 PC. I am using another computer for my music because I have so much.

                  Any suggestions?

                  Thank you
                  Eric

                    1. I don't see what can cause this except if you created the playlists after you started the plugin, the playlists are not dynamically refreshed, so if you create a new one, you need to restart the plugin before it shows up in HS3. If that's not the problem, please set the log level to Debug from the config page, restart the plugin and post your logs here.
Also, if you go to the device management page, is the dropdown list attached to the Playlist device correctly populated or do you have the same problem there?

                    2. not sure what is your question?
you can install iTunes on your music computer, the HS3 iTunes DAAP plugin is capable to connect and control a remote iTunes instance. You could also have iTunes installed on both computer and use "Home Sharing" to share your iTunes Library.

This may sound off but apple is now supporting the remote app on the new Apple TV. Is it possible to access and control the device? I ask because since it supports hdm-cec you could have a fully co troll able experience..if possible.

                        Airplay Speak functionality

                        Hi Spud,
I am about to purchase Airplay speak but it occurred to me that I need this plugin also. Does this plugin have any Speaker client functionality? If not is there a discount for both?

The iTunes DAAP plugin can disable/enable and control the volume of the Airplay speakers like you would do from iTunes, but it cannot send any TTS.

The 2 plugins are very different: iTunes DAAP only communicates with the paired iTunes instance, whereas the AirplaySpeak plugin directly communicates with the speakers.

                          No discount as of now.

This is a problem for me. Volume does not update when I change it from iTunes or another DAAP remote. The problem is not intermittent.

I'm using the plugin with an HSTouch music player. Works pretty good but after a few months of using it, I've seen some things that would be nice to have.

                              1. I am a big podcast listener. It would be great to have access to them.

                              2. If iTunes is not running when the plugin starts and you later start iTunes, you have to cycle the plugin. In my case, HS3 is always running 24/7. Seldom gets restarted. When I am away, I don't leave iTunes running due to concern over bandwidth (I'm on a metered connection). When I am home and want to listen to music, I start iTunes. It would be nice if the plugin didn't need to be cycled. In my world, it would be great to be able to have a control in a HStouch app that would tell the plugin to refresh its connection to iTunes. While not a big problem for me, this would also refresh playlists for newly added lists. Others have indicated this is a concern for them.

All in all, this is a great plugin. Thanks very much! It is plugins like this that make HS3 so powerful.

                                Thanks for the kind words.

                                1. I may add podcasts in the future, but this is a lot of work because the plugin is not based on a public API, so I have to do a lot of reverse engineering.

                                2. Have you tested version 3.0.0.29, I believe most of these problems have been fixed in this version. If it still happen please provide some debug logs.
