    Caseta Plug-in Randomly Dies

    DonMor,

    Config info:

    Current Date/Time: 1/2/2017 10:30:02 AM
HomeSeer Version: HS3 Pro Edition 3.0.0.297
Operating System: Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard - Work Station
System Uptime: 0 Days 18 Hours 13 Minutes 0 Seconds
    IP Address: 10.0.1.2
    Number of Devices: 166
    Number of Events: 24
    Available Threads: 200

    Enabled Plug-Ins
    1.1.3.0: Honeywell WiFi Thermostat
    3.0.0.68: HSTouch Server
    3.0.0.70: LutronCaseta

Issue: Caseta Plug-in seems to randomly stop running. Restarting the HS3 software fixes it. Sometimes, some TBD actions on my part, through the web interface or VNC connection/Web interface seem to kick start it again. See the attached log with my notes. What else do you need from me to get to the bottom of this?

Plugin crashes non stop after changing bridge IP

I got Google Wifi which makes you LAN 192.168.86.1 which you cannot change, so I had to change all my devices from 192.168.1.1. I changed the Smart Bridge and updated it in the plugin, but it crashes on me constantly. I was on a 60 something version plugin and now it says .77. What happens is I'll restart HS3 or the plugin (Windows Server 2012) and it will show Telnet connected. I'll turn a light on or off which will work a few times, then it will immediately say Telnet disconnected, and remote desktop shows the Lutron plugin application has crashed.

      Logs show:

you are the first one who bring this,
first can you check the debug option

second start a cmd and type telnet 192.168.86.38 23 (enter)
        when login: type lutron
        when password: type integration

        you should have GNET>

this is the same telnet as the plugin, let it run to see if your computer or router will block it

if you get disconnect in the cmd so it is in you setup of the google wifi. if not then we can look at your debug and error. I never had a refused.

Hi there, connecting via telnet from the HS3 machine works when I just tried. I'm not sure if this was an issue before the IP address changed or not as I wasn't really using HS3 much but I don't believe it was. I just know I was on version 66 or something around there.

So I changed the IP address in the Lutron app, restarted the Smart Bridge and updated HS3. Same issue, would die constantly. So I deleted the Lutron app, deleted all mention of it in the HS3 folder, and reinstalled, updated to 77 while disabled. It still had the bridge IP saved when I reinstalled, but same issue.

It will connect, show my devices say telnet connected. I control a device once or twice, and it changes to telnet not connected. I even deleted all Lutron devices in HS3 and added them again manually from scratch but same issue. I've disabled integration and turned it back on, the only thing I haven't done is fully factory reset the smart bridge and delete all my devices.

If I restart HS3 the system is stable, but then an hour or two later I'll try to access the web interface and HS3 is just frozen. I have to remote desktop in which always shows a windows popup saying the Lutron .exe file or whatever has stopped responding. As soon as I press close on it, HS3 becomes responsive again. Right now I have to keep the plugin disabled otherwise my HS3 won't respond.

I have the same problem, I can't use Lutron at all anymore it crashes non stop and hangs HS3. Have to remote desktop in and close the Lutron plugin.exe window that says it has stopped responding.

I have the same problem Lutron hangs my system and also causes HS Tiouch to drop out on my iphone. I completely removed this plugin and and now HSTouch on my iphone and ipads works.

416to305 fix it by factory reset the hub after changing the IP, I know this should not be the best way but it fix it.

after reading some post in the board be sure your HS computer don't go in sleep mode this can make the plugin crash.

Today I had to install a new Router. Mine just quit functioning properly. After making sure I had the correct ip address for the Caseta Plugin I got similar messages and my entire system was unresponsive. I turned the Lutron Bridge off and then back on and instantly everything started working. No factory reset just off/on

Another issue I always have is recovery after power failure. I have a UPS battery backup connected to my router, wifi, HS3 Server, cable modem, LTE modem, etc but not the Smart Bridge as it's upstairs. Yesterday the power went out for 5 minutes, so network and HS3 all stayed on, but Smart Bridge turned off. When the power came back on, Lutron wouldn't work at all from HS3. Showed telnet connected but just wouldn't respond to commands, and Pico remotes wouldn't trigger events. Restarted the Lutron plugin and it worked fine. It has always done that though for months but be nice if that could be analyzed or fixed. Might just buy a $40 UPS for the smart bridge if not.

Ok I'll simulate that by unplug my smartbridge.
