List of activities:https://forums.homeseer.com/showpost...postcount=1082 shows a slightly increase of threads overnight. It seems that the threads are increased when connecting an iOS client but definitively the amount of threads increase significantly when a project is deployed to an iOS client.

Hope this information is sufficient to solve this issue.

I've recently gone from 404 > 416 > 418 and whilst it's a little early to say for sure, it does appear as though the constant increase in handles which has been around for umpteen versions is finally under control.

The increases were in Event and Thread handles.

Nothing has changed on my Win 7 (x86) based system in terms of devices, events and plug-ins etc for over a year and on 404 (and a number of prior versions) I was seeing a constant increase in handles for HS3.exe of approximately 200 per day which never came back down. Although I never had HS3 crash, I've seen the handle count get into the many 000's before having to re-start HS3 for some other reason.

With 418 the handle count appeared to settle around 1250 after the first hour and has hovered around there for the last 20 hours.

I have multiple prior versions backed up (complete folders), what is the best way to install 418 over 416?

-Install over a prior version
or
-Do a repair and install over 416?

I just copied my licenses.bin file, installed .418 over .416 , copied the licenses file over and started HS up no problem.

I am concerned with longer term issues like crashes. With .NET memory can go up and down. So I would let the system run for a while and monitor.

It is my understanding that HS is unconcerned with handles, only memory usage.

Double checked the timestamps and HSCF.dll, HomeSeer.dll, Scheduler.dll and HSConsole.exe match the files in hslinux_hs3_3_0_0_418.tar.gz. This was an update from .415 and the issue of plugins not shutting down was present in .415 and is in .418 as well. Like I mentioned it only seemed to affect APCUPSD which isn't critical and consequently it was disabled.

Let me know if you need more info.

Were you on 416? 416 has the wrong HSCF DLL so plugin comms were not working properly.

After 2x 7 days again rise of CPU load version .404

I have used now for 15 days HS3 version .404.
Every friday at 4:30 AM HS3 is restarting (and backup) automatic.
It has been good for two weeks, but yesteday afternoon again the CPU load started to rise.

I wil install the latest version .418 and hoping it is OK then

I have a couple of devices setup for the colorcontrol controluse pair and also the CAPI type has been set to have the render type of the colour picker (and it shows on the devices page with the picker so I know it works), it does not appear that HS allows control of these devices any more in events - is there something that may be broken in relation to this or am I missing something (I seem to remember it working)? I only have one VS pair setup at value 0 because the render type is set to the picker.

Also the colorcontrol drop down has not yet been added to the list in the value/status pair page.

I'm running .418.

Seems to be running ok. I really haven't had issues with any of the recent betas.

It does seem that the plugins are not closing after closing HS3

As a precaution can you say restart the (each) hardware plugins and restart the whole server and see if it still happens. I had an issue where the UltrapioneerAVR3 HSPI was not firing events until I restarted it. So I did for the rest of the hardware plugins.
I can't say if it's a remedy but worth trying.
