Building Zee from a Raspberry board

    Hi,

If I buy a raspberry P3 board (latest), can I connect a Z-wave dongle to it and install HS3 on it?

Will that work the same as buying a Hometroller Zee?

I just want to see if I will buy a raspberry P3 to play with it or it will be too complicated!

    Any comments
    thanks,
    Joel

I'm not sure what you are asking but the OP just wanted to build his own Zee S2 unit.

            Exactly Rupp!

Right now I'm having HS3 installed in a Virtual Machine and using Znet to connect my Zwave devices...

But before getting the Znet, I bought a ZWave dongle to connect on my bare metal server running that VM, but I had a problem to access a usb port from the VM, which was a real pain to do! So I went with the Znet connecting it thru IP

Now I just got the RPi 3 and planning to use that dongle on it instead as a test setup for Zwave devices.... Some fun configuring a little project
