    SMTP: Class not registered

    After a clean install of HS Pro I get this when trying to send an email from an event:

    16/02/2012 20:47:50 email Email receive thread started
    16/02/2012 20:47:50 email Initializing POP email, found 1 messages
    16/02/2012 20:48:14 Event Event Trigger "Alarm trigger"
    16/02/2012 20:48:14 Error Sending email using SMTP: Class not registered
    Running windows XP SP3

    Do you have your email settings setup to use SMTP by entering a username in the SMTP Username field?

      No I haven't specified a user name in the smtp field only in the pop field.

        Was this a new XP SP3 install? Is Outlook express installed?

          no its an old XP machine with SP3 and a new install of HS Pro
          previously email worked

            outlook install was screwed. I rebuilt the OS, tested that Outlook was working and then migrated my HS install. All working fine now.
            It seems that fixing Outlook is not particularly easy.
