Make sure you remove the jumper on the thermostat that wired the black and N/C together! I didn't notice it, it is really small and unless you look close, you may miss that these 2 ports are jumped together by default - I missed it and spent the better part of a day trying a bunch of stuff (like making 3 different serial cables).
After I removed the jumper it worked like a charm - This plugin is definitely much better than the HAI panel solution which was slow and limited in function. Now if we can get a version to take advantage of all the features of the RC-2000!
