    Roomba 980

I will start by saying I am new to HS. I have been trying to figure out how to control my roomba 980 using HS. The thinking cleaner plugin doesn't work with the roomba models that have built-in Wi-Fi which are the 800 & 900 series models. So I am hoping someone out there can point me in the right direction for getting control of my roomba. TIA

Thanks for the suggestions but I read that post and searched the forum for roomba before I posted. What I learned from that research is that the newer roomba models that come from the factory with built-in wi-fi operate differently than the ones with an aftermarket wi-fi module. As I said, I already tried the thinking cleaner plugin which uses essentially the same protocol for control that the post you linked lays out. That method does not work on my model which comes with wifi from the factory. The whole reason I created this thread is because I could not find any info after searching myself. So either my Google foo needs improvement or no threads exist. I think it is the latter but it could be the former.

I've looked into this as well. I have found a couple of sites that actually are controlling their 980 from the command line. I have tried the procedure and got mine to work! However I am not a programmer and do not have the skills or time to make a plugin, I have been hoping someone would.

Here is the link I used to control mine: http://sikmi.com/blog/smart-house/ha...oomba-slackbot

          Solution in other post

This was coming up as the top search result in google for me looking for the same way to control a roomba 980 with homeseer. Then I found this other post https://forums.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=187552 where a plugin has been developed for it. Just wanted to post it here to save people time in the future if they're looking. Someone did also confirm it worked for the 960, so likely any roomba with wifi builtin from the factory could work with it.
