Nodemcu display suggestions

This plugin is addictive, I have more ideas and things to implement. I was thinking of using a display for Nodemcu, can you please suggest a display that works well with it. Ideally, I would like to use the display in the API not on the standard board.

The project that I'm working on would read the soil moisture and display it on the LCD Display. I saw many on Amazon but I want to make sure they are compatible with the plugin.

Use the one that is listed in the plugin manual, its about $6 on EBAY and works flawlessly.

Tip: check the version of the I2C interface as suggested by Greig, there are several different versions out there.
