    Ethernet shield mac address

My Ethernet shield is working but I do not have a sticker on it with the mac address.
Is there a way to write a mac address to the board so that it is hard coded and I can have pfsense assign it a static ip
    Cheers,
    Bob

Since the MAC and the IP address is written to the sketch, DHCP assignment is not an option. Whatever MAC address you enter in the plug-in is hard coded to the sketch and becomes the shield MAC. If you wanted to alter the sketch to use DHCP you could, but it still has to match the IP address in the plug-in, so I don't see any advantage to a DHCP reservation for Arduino.
