PLCBUS connector stop communication with 1141 after a while

I use HomeTroller Series 3 with PLCBUS interface 1141 to control my PLCBUS modules. I have a very strange problem with the PLCBUS plug-in. During the controller startup, the plcbus plug-in initialized successfully and working fine. But this is function will not last more than 1 or 2 days and stop working. Seem like the communication between the controller and the plcbus interface 1141 has broken. I need to restart the homeseer controller to make the plcbus back to normal again. This always happens (almost) everyday, the controller stop communication with PLCBUS interface 1141.

Does anyone in this forum has any experience with this kind of problem?
Any advice and comment will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Benny Harlindong.

      Hi,
Are you using "PLCBUS Fast Polling" ?

If you are enabling this polling check, try to increase the interval period, for example choose more than 300 Sec for testing only.

I am suspecting that your 1141 device get overheat and as result stop responding as expected.
Base my experience the minimal recommended interval is around 60 for 1Phase system.

        Hi Benhar,

if you're using the USB version of 1141, you might want to check your wires setup. After experiencing the same behavior as you do, I've found after extensive testing that the root cause was the 1141 USB cable not being shielded. So if set too close to AC wires, it would catch some interfering signals and stop communication with my PC. Two possible cures:

Easy - try to keep the USB cable away from AC wires - has worked for a french user asking for a solution on a french forum

Less easy - replace the usb cable with a shielded one

I've gone the "less easy" way before deploying PLCBUS in place of X10 and my system has been working like a charm for more than 3 years with 55 PLCBUS devices of which 32 (spread over 2 house codes) are being polled every 20 seconds.

        Hope this helps,
        Nicolas

I wonder if the serial version suffers similar problem with this?

I have the serial version and so far I have not find any issue of communication between 1141 and HomeSeer (using digi Edgeport for usb-serial conversion) but I am facing noise/interference issue from multiple fluorescent lights turning on. Currently waiting for some noise absorbers to continue my testing/installation.
