Moving from Version 3.0.0.379 to the newly released 3.0.0.390. I didn't have any issues with 3.0.0.379 and have no idea what is in 3.0.0.390 but will guinea pig for the sake of progress!

Well here is whatever thread locks up happening at 720 this morning on .387. Absolutely nothing happening in the Homeseer log at that time. After about 1 day and 1 hour runtime.

Reading through the beta posts has been interesting as it gives me an idea what's coming up. However I have to admit that the following posts kinda blew my mind.

Then I see systems running 1,200 and 4,000 devices what are you guys running that needs so many devices? Only thing I can think of is a hotel. I'm running 84+ devices but many of those are virtual devices used to control triggers.

Well I downloaded the "Thanksgiving Special" v.390 (Before the Black Friday deals) with the following resolve:
                    1. I stopped running v.387 (after 1 day and 23 hours running), updated to v.390
                    2. Rebooted PC for a fresh start, took ~45 seconds from HS3.exe to initialization to completely loading or in my case for HS3 to crash/hanging.
                    3. I again Rebooted the PC for a fresh start, took ~43 seconds from HS3.exe initialization to completely loading whereas the HS3 icon actually minimized (tease only) but it end ~1-2 seconds later in a HS3 "HS3 has stopped working" message (crash/hanging).
                    4. I then simply restarted the HS3.exe app once again with Speak.exe still running from the step three and was able to get HS3.exe to load successfully.

@RICH, If you would be so kind and communicate what you need from us to help you triage what ever this issue is. My observation is that this crash/hang problem (which is repeatable) started in my case with v.379 and continued with v.382, v.383, v.387, and now v.390 but if I go back to the last public release v.368 I do not get any crash/hang during startup. Not that I have that many either but I'm assuming, like me have only just begun the HS3 Home Automation hobby relatively recently (within the last year) just give it some time and you will crepe up there with "wouldn't it be nice!" projects Mike

I downloaded it, installed, and restarted. everything is running fine as far as I can tell so far (10 min) Loaded pretty normal, there was a long pause looking for speakers, but it finally loaded without errors. I was having crashes back after the latest official update, and now they appear to have cleared up...got my fingers crossed.

on your speaker issue. at one time I had downloaded a separate speaker file, and I had 2 speaker programs in 2 separate places. it was confusing to me because I was configuring one and the other was starting with no configuration. maybe you have something similar with versions of the speaker program conflicts?

@Wade, at this point I'm all ears.. more clues please, where and how did you resolve your issue so that I might rule it out or fix-it, Mike

Update: I think I ruled that out, I renamed both the startup.vb and speaker.config and then restarted HS3 (no speaker.exe came up) but it still crashed.

I do not mean to hijack your thread but I have been following this and had a question about your configuration. Do you by chance have the box checked to "Catch Up" on startup? If so you may try to uncheck and then restart. It that works, I would examine all of my reoccurring events. Just a thought.

As far as I know 3.0.0.387 was the last one Rich officially referred to. I believe .388, .389 and .390 only had some specific small changes to the way queue status are logged. The builds were only for diagnostic purposes and not intended for wide beta release. They are on the HS server, but were not announced. These changes only affect logging and have no functional impact on HomeSeer.
