I hate to say it, but I completely forgot both of your errors. I am working on a fix right now that will repair these issues and will post it shortly.

I noticed in the RCS Thermostat Status page that the "Mode" does'nt show the current state (running, idle) like previous releases have. I really liked that state info.

          RJ,

I just tried 2.3.2551.29099 (I don't know if that was the new fix you were mentioning), but here is the new error that I am getting in the log each time the stats are polled:

12/26/2006 6:03:26 PM RCS Serial Thermostats DEBUG In ProcessCMD, Property= D1
12/26/2006 6:03:26 PM RCS Serial Thermostats Error in ProcessCMD, Selecting Properties, Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.Parameter name: index

Also, my RS21 stat is still not updating if that was intended to be part of this fix.

            Automateme-

I found the error on the RS21 (really this time!), but I need some more info to figure out the damper error. Can you post a longer segment where the entire command is logged? This should contain a list of all the properties, and it will allow me to figure out what is going on.

            Bob-

Mode should show if it is enabled, so yes, Idle has been removed. If the plugin is in First Stage Heat, it will display that. This is just a bit more informative than the original plugin.

            Robert-

It seems like several users have seen problems with the thermostat returning bad data. Right now this is not handled too well, as it will write that error to the log, but it should not affect the overall operation of the thermostat.

I should be posting a new build soon with some new features.

I have never seen any of those errors. If you are using a TX16, you will need the RCS X10 thermostats plugin. I'm not sure if you are using that plugin or this one, as the error is not found anywhere in the Serial one.
              RJ,

I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I installed the new version a day ago. I'll log & reply with any other issues.

                Hey all-

There is a new build posted at the start of this thread and the updater. This resolves several issues with the plugin, including some thermostats responding with bad data. Please download this version if you have observed the above error.

Another small item, when one thermostat is calling for heat, I've noticed that the mode on all the thermostats report: Auto (First Stage Heat), when in reality, only one thermostat is calling for "First Stage Heat". I'm not sure if this suppose to be reporting the overall system state, or specifying the particular call for heat from that specific thermostat.

                      RJ,

I installed the new build, and the RS21 works! I do still get one "Unable to Interpret Command" error associated with RS21 (see stat 3 below).

Regarding the Damper error, here is one complete segment from my log.

                        Automateme-

Thanks for the help. I think I have got it this time, but give it a try. I'm sorry that this process is so complicated, we don't have zone controller HW to test with, so it somewhat hit-or miss on development.

                            RJ,

No worries at all - glad to help out. I'm looking forward to finally being able to integrate my HVAC into Homeseer.

I installed the new build. The "Index out of range" errors are gone now, but I do still get the following errors every minute when the stats are polled. The "D1" & "D2" messages are associated with each of my TR40 stats and the "F" message is associated with my RS21 Remote Sensor.

                              Hi Guys-

Just so you can have some peace of mind, the plugin is reading the damper correctly. You should also be able to trigger events based on the change. This is just a little logic blip where I forgot to exit the loop once I interpret the command.

So, your thermostats should be working fine! I will have a new build posted sometime in 2007, but until then, may everyone have a safe and happy new year!

P.S. - I still need to add the "F" command, but this shouldnt be too hard.

Thanks RJ, I will setup a few events to test. I guess that, for the time being, I will turn off logging to file until you post the next build. I get 5 of the "Unable to Interpret Command" messages per polling cycle, and with polling every minute, that puts about 7000 extra lines of text into my log every day.
