Here's the results after I loaded up 149 on my system:

HomeSeer Version:HS3 Standard Edition 3.0.0.149 (Linux)
Most modern tar commands can pick out the compression format.
Here, from a current Debian release:
    Code:
    tmac@debian:~/Downloads$ tar tvf hs3_linux_3_0_0_149.tar.gz
    drwxr-xr-x root/root 0 2014-12-10 15:42 HomeSeer/
    drwxr-xr-x root/root 0 2014-11-21 11:42 HomeSeer/scripts/
    -rw-r--r-- root/root 228 2014-11-21 11:42 HomeSeer/scripts/ShutDown.txt
    -rwxr-xr-x root/root 934 2014-11-21 11:42 HomeSeer/scripts/Startup.vb
    -rwxr-xr-x root/root 36 2014-11-21 11:42 HomeSeer/install.sh
    drwxr-xr-x root/root 0 2014-11-21 11:42 HomeSeer/temp/
    -rwxr-xr-x root/root 14 2014-11-21 11:42 HomeSeer/run_command.sh
TAR would imply the -j for bzip2, -J for xz, etc. It looks at the magic number of the compression format to figure it out and set it right.

That's good news! I had weatherxml running on a pi, but it wouldn't serve up the weatherxml configuration pages. Are yours working?

Yes the config pages work. PLUG-INS / WeatherXML drop down shows all the setup pages and they load fine .

Had fun setting up the data. I had set to mysql thinking that I needed to but not necessary
then were to see the weather forecast page its under users.

I since setup a custom page under setup/ Web Site Settings.

I recently installed HS3 on one of XBMC Buntu boxes and sound works just fine from the digital outputs and external USB sound dongles (with optical and analog stuff on it).

You cannot break anything goofing around with this.

Pete Nice to know, My Cubox-i4pro has dig audio but need to change it to the USB sound card and not having and luck getting it to change.

lsusb shows the USB sound card
alsamixer shows the Cubox Dig spdif as the default audio interface

I believe I need to change the default to my C-Media Headphone Set
I change it in alsmixer but it changes it back to the spdif.

Any Idea were I can update this?

My HS3 has no sound yet. Hope to here it speak soon.

Where is Linux package for download?

Perhaps I'm missing the obvious, but where to I find for download the linux package? I have purchased an upgrade from HS2 to HS3 license and understand that this covers the Linux package as well. Please advise and thanks in advance.

                        +1
I remember being puzzled by this as well when I first went to look for the HS Linux download. There really should be a standard location to go to for getting the HS linux downloads (both current and prior versions), instead of the current way, which AFAIK is only through links posted by HST in forum announcements.

It's not my business, but if it were, I'd also have a bootable "live" distro (preferably one that boots from RAM, so that it's also fast) so people shopping for Home Automation could easily try HomeSeer3. That would allow potential users to quickly try HS3, with 100% zero risk to their existing computer setup, regardless of what software or OS they have.

Yeah, it's kind of difficult to find, but if you use this URL:
                          http://homeseer.com/updates3/hs3_linux_3_0_0_149.tar.gz
just replace the 149 with the next version number.

As of this writing, 152 is not available for Linux...

BTW, was there ever a .150 or .151 release? If not, it serves to underscore the value of having an actual download page that people can go to. Otherwise, it's just hard for anyone but die-hards to keep track of it all.

I'm not sure. I am on .125 (Linux) and I *really* need the new HSTouch plugin (.59), but it requires .147 and above of HS3.

I've been watching the latest beta threads and there are mixed reviews.
