    Bitcoin Plug-in - User Guide

    INSTALLATION / CONFIGURATION

    System Requirements:

This plugin is for HS3 or HS3PRO. It works with both Windows and Linux versions.
To monitor your wallet Balance or let HomeSeer send Bitcoin, you will need a wallet that implements the Bitcoin JSON RPC API. This can be Bitcoin-Qt, blockchain.info wallet, or any other compatible bitcoin software.

    Plugin Installation:
Download and install from the updater or download package from the Beta Testing thread and follow instructions to install.

    Plugin Configuration:
if you want to use the plugin to monitor your wallet balance or to be able to send Bitcoin, you need to fill the information on the wallet tab of the config page:

For example if you have a blockchain.info wallet the daemon URL would be https://rpc.blockchain.info, the RPC Username would be your blockchain.info identifier and the RPC Password would be your blockchain.info password. In case of a blockchain.info wallet the Wallet Passphrase would be the second password of your wallet, but it's only needed if you want to let HS be able to send Bitcoins, if you just want to track your wallet balance you can leave this field blank.

If you want to track the exchange rate of Bitcoin against one specific currency, go to the Market tab and click the Track button for the currencies you are interested in. This will create a HS device for each currency you want, and the value of this device will be refreshed every 5 minutes.
By default only BTC/USD is tracked.
The exchange rates are taken from blockhain.info

    FEATURES

If everything is ok, you should now have some HS devices for exchange rates and wallet balance. You can now trigger some HS events based on those device values.
