Yes the only way to do this is to have an API Board as I have looked at this in the past but can not find a good way to handle it in the main Homeseer.ino.

Plugings = RFXcom, ActiveBackup, Applied Digital Ocelot, BLDeviceMatrix, BLGarbage, BLLAN, Current Cost, Global Cache GC100,HSTouch Android, HSTouch Server, HSTouch Server Unlimited, NetCAM, PowerTrigger, SageWebcamXP, SqueezeBox, X10 CM11A/CM12U.
Scripts = Various

I supposed it but I thought trasmit IR code via Homeseer.ino was more easier than receive. It doesn't matter, if in the future you will find a solution could be a good thing.
