Android not connecting to port 443

Recently I acquired a Viewsonic G-pad. The browser will not connect to my H/S machine which I have set at port 443. Using the HS-Touch I can get through to some web pages - camera, HSTV but not the status page. Being new to the Android OS I would appreciate any help on how to make the Android connect using port 443. I changed to port 80 and it works fine with that but I would hate to have to change that on all my client HS Touch projects.

I almost hate when this happens (just after posting the question) but I think I figured it out. The browser was changing the url to http"s" when I typed in the port 443 and I don't actually have secure server enabled.

Yep port 443 is the SSL port. Are you using SSL? If not why did you choose that port?

Instead of port 80 you might try 8081 or 8082 etc - these are not as common for port attacks
