    Velleman K8061 plugin

    Hi all,

Some time ago velleman released a new USB I/O board
Since a few weeks it is available, price 99 Euro, or about 125 US$

I was wonderingif one of the plugin Gurus would be so nice to write a proper
    plug-in for V1.7 and up

    Here is the velleman information:

    http://www.velleman.be/product/view/?lang=en&id=364910
This interface board has a total of 33 input/outputs: including analogue / digital and + 1PWM output.

Connection to the computer is galvanically-optically isolated, so that damage to the computer is not possible thus providing a high level of secure implementation.

All communication routines are contained in a Dynamic Link Library (DLL).
You may write custom Windows*. Applications in Delphi, Visual Basic, C++ Builder or most other 32-bit Windows application development tool that supports calls to a DLL.

For first time interfacing and tutoring, check also our K8055 USB experimentation interface board

    * WinXp recommended for optimum compatibility
    * Are registered trademarks of MICROSOFT CORP.

    Features
    Specifications
    • power consumption through USB port : approx. 60mA
    • up to 8 cards can be connected to PC
    • power supply through adaptor : 12Vdc / 300 mA (PS1205)

Just a tip, but getting a serial port based I/O gizmo instead of one that requires dll file programming would allow one to easily make the control programming.

          Thanks for the advice....

So, what are the serial options...?

So many other options are really expensive....

          My real needs are inputs...

The below boards might be of interest for use with a serial port.

Search the board for weeder to find some info on it. I doubt that there is a plugin for the futurlec board. You should be able to use them with a com port script.

Or go for the Velleman K8055. Slightly less imputs, but a working Homeseer plugin exists thanks to Malarcy. It currently only supports one board, but Malarcy is working on a version that will support mutiple of these boards so you could double the inputs/outputs easily.

The board also exists in a preassembled version, but the reference number has escaped my brain......

See this thread about that device.

                    Hi Evja

Yes, I know Malarcy and the 8055 very well... infact I have 4 8055's sitting ready for the next release!

Out of interest, have you tried a usb gameport or usb joypad plugged in at the same time as the 8055? I have a problem with that and would be interested if another user has too!

I am just looking around, as even after I get the 4 boards working, I need to know where my next inputs are comming from!
