Z-NET US vs Z-NET AU and EU

Homeseer just announced the release of the Z-NET AU version (https://shop.homeseer.com/products/h...australian-uzb and https://shop.homeseer.com/collection...plus-interface)

Looking at the features and specs of the US vs AU there seem to be some significant differences. It looks like the AU version is the US box with an additional AU USB z-wave radio (see link above)

    US Version:
    Main Features
Remote Z-Wave Interface for use with HomeSeer Software and HomeTrollers
Supports Z-Wave Plus (and older) Products
Ethernet (and WiFi) Connections Allow for Optimal Positioning in Home
Supports Network Wide Inclusion (NWI) for Easy Product "Pairing"
May be Used with Other Z-NETs in Larger Homes or for Secondary Residences or Outbuildings
Includes Highly Optimized Antenna for Superior Range and Performance
Includes Easy to Use Web-Based Management Features
Provides Easy Upgrade Path from Z-Trollers, Z-Sticks, SmartSticks and Most Other Z-Wave Interfaces
Case Includes Keyhole slots for wall mounting (with your hardware)
    Specifications
    Z-Wave Plus Certified
    Protocol: Sigma Serial API
    Built-in 500 Series Z-Wave Module
    Includes ZDK 6.5x Z-Wave Library
    Field-upgradable Firmware
Supports 908.42 MHz (US) Z-Wave frequency
    UPC: 610585164310

    AU Version:
    Main Features
Remote Z-Wave Interface for use with HomeSeer Software and HomeTrollers
Ethernet (and WiFi) Connections Allow for Optimal Positioning in Home
May be Used with Other Z-NETs in Larger Homes or for Secondary Residences or Outbuildings
Includes Easy to Use Web-Based Management Features
Provides Easy Upgrade Path from Z-Trollers, Z-Sticks, SmartSticks and Most Other Z-Wave Interfaces
Case Includes Keyhole slots for wall mounting (with your hardware)

There is nothing listed under the specifications for the AU version.

Does this mean the AU version is missing Z-wave plus and NWI? And it the AU version will not use the optimized antenna? If so then other than essentially using ethernet there are no real advantages over a z-stick 2.

Maybe some could clarify this for me?

    Thanks, Marty.

    Hello Marty,

This is effectively the Raspberry Pi 3, external z-wave rather than internal which is utilised in the other regions.

Yes, it is a z-wave plus certified device and NWI is part of the product.

The key difference for you last question could be based on economics rather then capabilities as this is another z-wave device; however, the packaged product is cheaper compared to AU.

    Z-stick $90 AU
    RPi3 complete $75
    Software $200 ($149 USD)

Represents a small saving in AUD including postage.

You can get a z-stick from $69.95 AUD.
Yes, it's Z-Wave Plus and works with HS.

Might tilt it back in favour of a Raspi and software only option.

      209 USD = 287.17 AUD (4/2/17)

Just as a follow up; @Black Cat's comments are very relevant; especially during Homeseer software sales which represents significant savings in the total cost of ownership.
