Strange unintended commands from Alexa

Since a few days I have my Sky satellite box randomly pressing buttons for me. Looking at the logs, I can see that events were triggered. I trigger these events by activating a virtual switch. I have not manually turned that switch on, and Alexa has been quiet and not turned to listening. Now what happens too since a few days, I have macros (which again are triggered by switching a virtual switch) which have worked fine for weeks, and I have not touched them. But all of a sudden I can see when saying 'turn on BBC1' which normally turned the TV and and my SKY box to BBC1, it turns on the TV and switches it to the right input but then receives garbage as on teh program guide I can see all sorts of letters and commas etc appear. Same as sometimes randomly happens over the last few days. I think I know ehy the random symbols and letters appear. If you look at my log, within the same second Alexa has not only triggered the BBC1 command, but also Channel4, ITV and BBC2. I guess that has overloaded the plugin which results in garbage being sent.
