Just to add a couple of more details - we were seeing this error after installing a brand new PLC on a Home Server machine. The PLC appears to be installed successfully, but we were unable to add devices manually or using tap. We have tried to reset the PLC to factory default, to no avail.

please consider finding one of the newer versions of the PLC plugin in the forum.

Please note:I am moving away from supporting the PLC with the Insteon plugin. If its not too late to return the PLC and get a PLM, please do so.

The plc version is from the hs download. Can't find a newer one in the forum. You have a link to one until we look at getting a PLM?

What's weird here is I have never had an issue with the PLC for years and now this system can't even get one device registerd. Something is obviously not right.

But still the question is unanswered as to what the problem with the PLC plugin version is. This is the second PLC so it's not the PLC itself.

I assume the new Dual band PLM will work?

Trying to get this up and running at least for now...so far no love.

the dual band plm is supported. I have a new USB PLM (a 2414u) for sale in the for sale forum if you are interested

have you tried other insteon software with the current sdm/plc setup?

can you upgrade the sdm software?

I have not tried other SDM software. Anything else I can do to troubleshoot this?

I would try reinstalling the SDM and/or finding the latest version if one exists

Guys, if you can't get your original config (using PLC v1.1.52.1) working then i might suspect noise on the line or an issue with the SDM installation.

I can't be much help with specific issues with the sdm or plc
