To Poll or not to Poll
So I have been trying to find the answer to this on older threads internet etc and I seem to remember not too long ago that the standard polling interval was 20 minutes. No it seems like polling is disabled across the board. My question is, does it make sense to poll some devices where it would make a difference?
Current set-up: Mix of GE, Linear and Home Seer wall switches and dimmers, several sensors of various types, outlet control, etc. I know you wouldn't want to poll the Homeseer devices as they provide status and battery operated doesn't make sense as they are asleep. For the other devices though where the status of the switch is helpful, does it make sense to poll the fixture or is it pretty much a no-no now? Doesn't need to poll every second but catching up at some point for the more important switches would be helpful.
Again, trying to understand the polling side more and plan to change out switches slowly...
