Best approach for 1.7 to 2.x on Vista?

Ok, so I finally want to get around to upgrading to 2.x AND upgrading my machine to Vista (via reformatting it).

What's the best approach for being able to move to 2.0 and be able to reformat my machine at the same time (I have plenty of places to stick files temporarily)?

I don't use many hardware plug-ins, just the Smarthome USB plugin, a W800RF controller and a USB UIRT device.

I will be installing the 32-bit version of Vista.

Thoughts?

You may want to hold off on the Vista upgrade since HS isn't certified to run on that OS yet.
