    X10 with HS3 Zee2 Hometroller

I've been out of the loop a bit and bought a HS3 Zee2 Hometroller to use with my existing x10 switches. I connected my powerlinc 1132U only to find it doesn't work.

What x10 interface can I use? Suggestions?

    You'll need an X10 CM15a interface: https://shop.homeseer.com/collection...sb-transceiver

The 1132 interface was discontinued many years ago. The CM15a is still currently in production.

Testing the CM11A plugin here ==> HomeSeer X10 Plug-in and it's been working well.

Also testing the TW-523 via the Ocelot Plugin ==> GTS CPUXA Ocelot Plug-in (3P) and it too has worked well.

I had issues using X10 with the Insteon serial Powerline PIM ways back. I have never tried most current Insteon USB or Serial PIM.

I am also using Jeff Volp's original XTB amplifier (with CM11A) and Jeff's XTB-IIR TW523 dual phased emulator. Both of these devices do X10 on steroids.

      I would recommend that you purchase a CM11A, TI103 or a VOLP XTB-232.

Default configuration here for Homeseer 3 is using the CM11A with the Volp XTB amplifier and the Leviton Omni Pro 2 with the Volp XTB-IIR.

Testing CM11A without the XTB amplifier to work fine and the TW-523 with the Ocelot.

Seems like because I only have USB chieftains, I could only use what Macromark wrote above. CM 15a, correct?

You can a USB to serial converter. I believe ones that use the FTDI chip are compatible with the pi, but others may be as well. With a converter you could use the other interfaces.

          Cheers

Not sure if you are utilizing wireless X10 stuff.

Currently utilize X10 only for Christmas lighting and X10 wireless trinkets.

            It is fast and easy.

Relating to wireless X10 here went from the old MR26A serial device to a WGL W800 RF device way long time ago. Put an antenna in the attic for the W800 and it covers home and property. I use the old palm pad to test irrigation zones outside.

You will not get that range from the CM15A. There are modifications posted here to disconnect the radio piece of the CM15A here ==>

How I Disabled The CM15A RF

An alternative to the WGL W800RF is the RFXCom device which does much more than talking to X10 devices. Read about the RFCom device here ==>
