upgrade Linux on hometrollerSEL ?

I'm running HS3 Pro Edition 3.0.0.368 (Linux) on a SEL hometroller.

The Linux kernel is very old, here's the result of a uname -a

Is there a way to upgrade the Linux kernel? There has to be a lot of security upgrades since this ancient kernel...

Is there a way to upgrade the Linux kernel?

The SEL is running with 32bit Ubuntu 14.04 and Mono 3.28.

If you want to run Ubuntu 16.XX or 17.XX 64bit it will need to be a total rebuild.

I have updated 14.04 64 bit to 16.04 64 bit on a couple of machines. Did this with main Homeseer 3 Pro machine. It was a PITA.

If you have many devices, events and triggers running with Mono 3.28 you will lose much of this stuff upgrading mono beyond 3.28.

One user named Andrew (abwyatt) on the forum started to do that and purchased an Intel NUC.

Not sure relating to Homeseer support or warranty on your SEL if you do this.

Here running two Homeseer boxes at Ubuntu 16.04 64 bit and current release of Mono in 64bit mode.

1- Pine64 2Gb computer
