Fresh linux install error

I'm preparing to migrate my trusty windows hs3pro install over to a linux box, and am having an issue with this plugin.

When I enable it, I get this in the logs.
Quote:
Feb-05 11:34:52 AM
Plug-In Finished initializing plug-in Caddx
Feb-05 11:34:50 AM
Caddx Error Plugin: CaddxError in Com Open module No such file or directory
Feb-05 11:34:50 AM
Caddx InitIO called, plug-in is being initialized...
Feb-05 11:34:50 AM
Info Plugin Caddx has connected. IP:127.0.0.1:57941

It appears to enable in the GUI, but if I click on Plugins, Caddx, Config I get a blank page, and this shows up in the log.

This is a fresh install of HS3 Pro Edition 3.0.0.297 (Linux) on Debian 8.7.1 64bit.

What can I post to help figure out the issue?

Thanks,
Jonathan

I might have had the same problem when I migrated over. I am not sure what you have in your set-up, but I think I had some issues (naming issues? config issues) with referencing the com port correctly. I am using a USB to Serial dongle. originally there was a problem with referencing it correctly in the config (windows to Linux slash convention issues), then I had the problem that every reboot, the Pi would assign a different virtual port. May not be your issues.

I haven't copied over anything from the windows install yet, this is fresh out of the box.

I tried to enable debug mode with a command I found on this board, but cannot find any resulting debug files. Here is the complete log from that attempt.

I uninstalled caddx, rebooted the box, ran the command to enable debug, installed caddx, clicked on plugins, caddx, config, got a blank screen, ran the command to stop debug.

Anyone know where the debug logs are?

I think the:

Caddx Error Plugin: CaddxError in Com Open module No such file or directory

Means that you are not referencing the COM port correctly. what is your setup?

Edit: can you connect to the panel directly?

I can't even get the config page to load to specify a port, trying to open the config page is what triggers the

Error Getting web page from plugin page Caddx Config Page:Object reference not set to an instance of an object
message.

Check the hspi_caddx.ini under /usr/local/HomeSeer/Config. Perhaps something wonky in the ComPort that it isn't handling right at startup and it can't get past so that you can correct it from the config screen.

I had this problem today while building a test raspberry pi3 hs3 pro setup with a USB to serial adapter. The problem appears to be that I was trying to test the connection before I saved the settings using the save button at the bottom of the page. I hope this helps.

I can't even get the config page to load to make any changes or specify a port to even save, trying to open the config page is what triggers the

message.
