    Ventilation system controllers?

Is there some modules i can use to get ventilation systems to work with the system?

I have someone interested in the system but wants the ventilation system to work with this.

the ventilation in question comes from http://www.systemair.com/ called "villavent save". I see that other smarthome systems says they can control these with their system.

In here they say they have a z-wave device. But i can't seem to find this anywhere?

systemair.com seems to be having problems, so I can't check, but how is the control done manually?
HSPro 3.0.0.458, Z-NET with Z-wave plugin 3.0.1.190, RFXCOM + 2x RFXtrx433E, HSTouch, Squeezebox plugin, iTach IP/WF2IR & GC-100-6 with UltraGCIR, BLDenon, NetcamStudio, Jon00s Webpage builder, Harmony Hub plugin, SCSIP (with FreePBX), Arduino plugin, IFTTT, Pushalot plugin, Device History plugin.
Running on Windows 10 (64) virtualized
on ESXi (Fujitsu Primergy TX150 S8).

Hi, I read through the spec in the last link you sent. There is obviously some sort of wireless control but I suspect this might be some closed Zigbee protocol or similar. More interestingly would be the modbus RS485 gateway they mention. If you can get the API for this then a plug-in could likely be created.

There's also a Z-Wave adapter so perhaps you could hook this into the HS3 ZWave network and use HS to control it.

There is something strange in this document. It says that Villavent is "Smartly compatible", but refers to a Z-wave device. Smartly doesn't use Z-wave. It uses xComfort.

I would contact Villavent and ask them where you could buy this Z-wave device. If it exists, then great! If it doesn't, then you'll at least know that.

In the likely event that this Z-wave device does not exist (or at least is not compatible with anything else than Smartly as they are very interessted in locked down solutions), then RS-485 seems to be your only option.

If i want to proceed and the only support here is their RS 485 Gateway. What do i need and what do i need to learn?

You'll need the API to the RS485 interface. You'll also need an RS485 port (or an RS232 serial port with an RS485 converter, see ebay) plus cable.

You'll then need to write the interface according to the API. This could either be a plug-in or some basic scripts depending on the level of functionality you require.

Modbus is a standard protocol which, although it can be a little painful to do the packet encoding/decoding works very well.

See if you can get the API and share it here and perhaps I can help you on your way...

That would be great. I will try get the API for it and hear if i can buy just their Gateway for testing.

But i'm not familiar with this RS485 or the RS232 protocol how will this communicate with HS excactly?

              Will this "tool" do it?

and would you use this to communicate with HS?

RS232 is just your normal serial port, so the plug-in/script would need to be written to do serial communication.

you can use the Global Cache device you mention if your systemair is not placed near your HS3 box. Otherwise you could just use a serial cable from your HS3 box to the systemair.

I've used these RS232-RS485 converters in the past: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/9-Pin-RS-2...item4aba172e02

                  Hi,

Sorry to bring this old thread back up, but what was the outcome of this project?
I'm going to get a Systemair ventilation in my next house and would love to get it to work with HS.

Newer Villavent-systems seems to be working fine:
