Now that you have put a xbmc exit in the plugin, Thankyou for that ,would it be possible to add a start command as well
unfortunately that's more difficult than what it sounds because once XBMC is closed, the plugin doesn't know how to talk to the remote machine.
It may be easier in the case where the plugin and XBMC are installed on the same machine, but even though I'm not sure if I can retreive the path of the XBMC exe.

I haven't search, but there is probably somewhere in this board, some plugin or script that let you start programs on remote machines.

Thanks Spud will have a look, didn't think about plugin not being able to communicate with xbmc being as it is closed

        Hi Spud,

Don't know if I asked this before but is the anyway to force connect to plugin to xbmc if for any reason its not connected, with me closing things down when not in use, on some occasions the plugin ether doesn't or take an age to reconnect unless i restart the plugin, presume the plugin must poll xbmc to see if its running, but is there a time limit on this

        thanks

        keep up the great work

The plugin use zeroconf (aka Bonjour) to discover XBMC instances.
I guess I could add some "reconnect" buttons in case zeroconf fails to detect an instance.

I do have a feature request if possible (and apologies if this is already possible), but I have more network designed hostnames on all of my devices. It would be great if in the config file there was a way we could specify the name the player should be called rather than rely on the hostname of the device itself.

              Hi Spud,

Could you do a "Remove from library" and or "Delete from library"

Believe there are options in the context menu, but in Gotham it seem to be getting buried in the ever increasing menu.

Thanks Spud would appreciate that and if it could be linked into a event would be great,

Last night after starting my system the plugin seem to connect, as show by the green tick and the remote function in the device panel seem to work but the dim event linked to a XBMC function didn't seem to work until I restarted the plugin, Presume this is nothing to do with Bonjour any ideas

              .

                WOL within the plugin

                Hi,

Is there a way to send a wake-on-lan from within the plugin so I can turn on the Xbmc computer through a nice interface. I know it's possible to do it with a WOL plugin but I wish it could be done from with in the plugin.

Thanks for a great plugin. (bought it)

Not sure I understand your request...
In XBMC GUI > System > Settings > Service > General , you can change the Device name to anything you want, this is this name that is used in the plugin.
You may have to delete the settings for this player in XBMC.ini as well as the XBMC devices, and then restart the plugin for everything to be recreated properly.

There are some RemoveMovie and RemoveEpisode functions in the XBMC API, but the movie or episode id needs to be passed to those functions, so I'm not sure how you could use this from the plugin?
There doesn't seem to be a way to get the id of a movie you have focused on, I can only get the id of what's currently playing.

I will add a "Reconnect" event action.

For problem like this, please set log level to debug, capture some logs, and post them here.

I will investigate on Wake On Lan, if it is easy enough to implement I will add it to the plugin.

No, the plugin use the standard HS3 logs

Ok set to debug and will watch out for when it misbehaves

Is there a option to get the video list visible in HStouch like you can do when you go in the menu to XBMC and then select the computer thats running xbmc.
Would be great to be able to scroll trough the covers and press what to play.

I'm not a HSTouch specialist, but I think it's possible to display the player page (the one you can access from menu PLUG-INS > XBMC > Player Name) within a HSTouch page.

The other way to browse media libraries from HSTouch will be to use the new Media API, but it's not implemented yet, so I'm waiting for HST guys on this.
