The XBMC media player was renamed Kodi several years ago, so it was time for the plugin to change name as well.
Starting with version 3.0.1.0 the plugin name is now "Kodi".
How to upgrade to the new Kodi plugin?
Starting with version 3.0.1.0 the plugin name is now "Kodi".
How to upgrade to the new Kodi plugin?
- Disable the XBMC plugin then install the new Kodi plugin (version 3.0.1.0 or higher) from the updater.
- Because the new Kodi plugin is considered by HS3 as a completely different plugin, you will have to register it again, but you can use your existing license code for XBMC.
- On first run the Kodi plugin will copy your settings stored in the XBMC.ini file to Kodi.ini. Your existing XBMC devices will be updated so that the Kodi plugin can use them.
- It's impossible to automatically upgrade event triggers and actions, so you will have to reconfigure any event that used a custom XBMC Trigger or XBMC action. The event triggers/actions that used XBMC devices don't have to be reconfigured.
- Once everything is working as expected you can delete the XBMC line from the interfaces page.
