    factory reset..

and I think I goofed. I did not back up my settings. Not a big deal because I only set up 3 nodes, but wanted to start fresh. Now I can not seem to add nodes (or see the net work). Log below. I tried to register again and to no avail. Not sure if I have to do that again or not. Downloaded the zwave plug in.. still no dice. I can not get Z-tool to pick up the network. Get a strange error. "Must be non negative and less than the size of the collection". Not sure if I need the mother ship to unlock my controller or not.

Welcome to the Homeseer forum Hockeypuck. I saw that you purchased Homeseer on the Cocoontech forum. I am Pete_c over there.

Here originally backed up the supplied RPi2 SD card image then wrote it to a fast 16Gb microSD card.

You can remove the SD card and put it in one of those microSD to USB devices. You can back up the card using Windows or Linux.

Keep the original microSD card. Here is an example of one of those devices. There are a bunch out there in internetlandia.

      Registration is easy.

Just click on the registration button and register.

If you have issues registering your product then call the Homeseer Help desk and they will help you. Takes a minute or so.

It should work fine with Chrome or Firefox on a PC/laptop. Here mostly utilize Firefox on Wintel or Linux stuff.

Download WinSCP if you are utilizing Windows. It is an explorer like program which will let you get to the RPi2. Make sure you have a root password for your RPi2.

If you shut down HS3 via the GUI you can then back up the entire Homeseer 3 directory back to your PC or to another directory on the RPi2.

The above noted you can then update your Zee-2 to most current versions of Homeseer3, Homeseer Touch server and Z-Wave plugin.
