    X 10 door bells

Does the doorbell system work with the plug in, provided that I have the X10 antenna.

    X10 doorbell

Does anyone have this doorbell or one similar for HS. This door bell has on off features and dimming features which I think shouldn't be on it. If any has experience with this, it would be appricated.

It never ceases to amaze me how X10.Com can take a collection of existing items, put them together and call them something entirely new.

The "ringer" is nothing more than a wireless stick on switch. Yes, it'll work with ACRF2, or RFXCom Plugins, but it won't last outdoors.

The chimes are just that. They'll work fine with Homeseer. They're loud and annoying. I used to use one as an alarm clock. Guaranteed to wake up the dead.

The Tranceiver, I'd throw into a drawer. If you have one of the above plugins you don't need it. If not, I always found these a pain trying to use with HS as an interface between RF and Powerline X10. It may work however.

The USB 310 transmitter can be used for the chimes http://www.rfxcom.com/transmitters.htm#10102
Or add a 310 transmitter module in an existing 2 port LAN interface

The X10 transceiver is necessary. It receives the RF command and puts the signal on the power line.

So the actual door bells won't even work outside?

If you mean the push button switch... I'll work, until it gets rained on, or otherwise exposed to weather. It's a stick on light switch to which they've added some printed labels. These will control any X10 device.

The chimes are 110V and aren't waterproof.

There any other door bells that will work with HS?

Connect a DS10 doorsensor to a water tight pushbutton?

Control the chimes using the CM11.

Thanks a ton bill. How will RFXcom read the door open, I'm curious how the device list will look. I plan on using them for more than just the doorbell, the garage door seems like a good idea as well

                          Add a security sensor,
Uncheck "Active sensor" otherwise you will have an alarm is somebody presses the chime button.

                          When the pushbutton is pressed:
                          - the door sensor will transmit a NORMAL signal if the pushbutton has a Normal Open contact
                          - the door sensor will transmit an ALERT signal if the pushbutton has a Normal Close contact
                          Attached Files

                              I don't think so.

                              In other words:
If the pushbutton has a Normal Open contact and you press the button the contact will close and the door sensor will transmit a NORMAL signal.
