If you are getting this for any plugin install, there is something going on with your network. The updater is managed by HS, but each plugin has its own info that can be hosted just about anywhere. Are you on DSL, cable, fiber, etc? I wonder if maybe your DNS is not resolving?

For the DNS server put in:

                8.8.8.8

and see if that sticks then try your download again.

Typically enabling DHCP automagically sets your DNS.

Another thing to check is to try this:

1 - Go to Tools / system / Linux Tools
                  2 - login

Here we check on your IP
                  3 - type ifconfig
4 - copy and paste what you see here.

Here we check on your gateway
5 - then type netstat -nr
6 - copy and paste what you see here

Here we check on your DNS
                  7 - then type nslookup www.google.com
8 - copy and paste what you see here.

Wow Pete this is totally confusing but I did as you said changing my DNS Server address to 8.8.8.8 and that at least gave me an indication it was going to download but then got this "
                    Install/Update of package OMNI failed."
So here is the copy pasting as you instructed......Thanks for hanging with my problem Pete...

                      @Stephen

We are just checking your base configuration with the above. The issue appears to be that you have no DNS servers configured.

                      running comand nslookup www.google.com
Nothing came up for the last command?

The two commands above and mish mash but readable two above commands relates to a missing file which should be included in the base built of the Zee2 called "aha". I am not sure why it wouldn't be on your RPI.

Type "aha --help" in the Linux command line window.

You should see something like this:

                      running comand aha --help

                      Ansi Html Adapter Version 0.4.8.0
aha takes SGR-colored Input and prints W3C conform HTML-Code
                      use: aha <options> [-f file]
                      aha (--help|-h|-?)
                      ......

None the less lets try to configure your DNS.

Once this piece is configured then you will get a response to the nslookup command and then your downloading of updates will work. No sense in testing the updating of plugins until this piece works.

Try typing this in the linux command line window ==>

                      echo "nameserver 8.8.8.8" >> /etc/resolv.conf

                      then try again the command

                      nslookup www.homeseer.com

                      You should see this:

                      running comand nslookup www.homeseer.com

                      Server: 127.0.1.1
                      Address: 127.0.1.1#53

                      Non-authoritative answer:
                      www.homeseer.com canonical name = homeseer.com.

From the above add on post #42 it looks like you have no DNS yet.

                            Try this instead:

                            execute echo "nameserver 8.8.8.8" >> /etc/resolv.conf

Dynamic DNS will help you relating to utilizing a name versus having to remember your IP.

I would remove the above showing internet IP address you posted above.

Here it must be an age thing but typically get up at 4 here and fall asleep mostly around 10.

If this problem of mine not being able to down load from Homeseer is only my problem then you may want me to start another topic instead of cluttering up this topic????

Yes we can.....just post it new in another topic.

                              Multi-copies of Devices in Omni-Import

Migrated from HAI Beta to Omni Plug-in. Problem with the Omni panel import adding duplicate devices which also gets imported into Alexa App. HAI Beta did this and I ignored but Omni plug-in pulled them all in as well. Seems anytime an Omni panel change is made and imported, the plug-in just adds another set of all the devices with the change instead of overwriting the existing devices. Any experience/resolution for this?

Migrated from HAI Beta to Omni Plug-in. Problem with the Omni panel import adding duplicate devices which also gets imported into Alexa App. HAI Beta did this and I ignored but Omni plug-in pulled them all in as well. Seems anytime an Omni panel change is made and imported, the plug-in just adds another set of all the devices with the change instead of overwriting the existing devices. Any experience/resolution for this?
I'll see if I can replicate this asap...

Are the dup devices Units, Flags, Buttons, etc?
