So I just tried again. BTW, I've serialized the name of my HS3 server and LMS instance. They both still have the same name; which is now HS311441. Here is the log activity for the latest attempt. I never saw any updates to the player area. It just keeps playing the song I've told it to.

No files are being created in the C:\Program Files\HomeSeer HS3\html\Squeezebox directory.
They are again. I accidentally had the speak volume set to zero. Everything else is the same, as the original posts, though.

It is supposed to work that way but it doesn't. It will create the speech file and if you take the url that gets created in the LMS server and put it into a web browser it plays just fine. But it does not play thru the player.

Look in the media folder. I think they get put there. I will try to mess with this tonight too.

Here are the files that are being created by my system. mediaFiles.zip It looks like my instance of LMS is not configured to play wav files, but it plays mp3's just fine. It just won't play them when told to play them by the LMS server. Maybe I should just make a video of what I am seeing?
mp3 plays fine to the clients if I drop it into the LMS media folder. It does not play fine if told to stream it from the web URL of the SB PI.
edit: LMS plays some .wav files just fine, including this very hifi version of a Muse song, linked for troubleshooting purposes. It doesn't play the wav files being created by this PI, though.

I was able to play the mp3 file (via the url from hs3). I did not try the wav file as i am sure my lms has not been setup for wav file types nor transcoding to mp3 when streaming (requires installation of lame in lms if i recall)

This is really interesting. What values to you think need to be changed in LMS to support the TuneIn URL streaming of the MP3 files being created? I presume you tested in the LMS server via the TuneIn option. My LMS is still pretty stock, but I can try any changes you recommend and report back.

So, do you give up? If so, I'd like a refund for my purchase.
Thank you,

I am curious as well as I have been waiting for this. Also it seems the latest plugin has to be bounced frequently to maintain connection to LMS.

I haven't seen this issue. What errors are you seeing related to that?
Cheers

Not seeing any errors, but notice my HSTouch screens don't update and my russound panels stop displaying info until this plugin is bounced.
If the PI Developer is around, I can look into it deeper to help them out.

I (plugin developer) am around. I have been trying to reproduce it without success a few weeks ago. Since i have been extremely busy with work and right now traveling internationally. If had a reproducible case or even a hint of what the issue is, i would certainly fix it. I will look at it again maybe in a week when i plan to work on a few enhancements to the plugin.

Ok, so I was following this thread for a while, specifically because I had close to near the same problem. I am hoping you may have the same issue as me, I too has a Hometroller. Under status, make sure HS3 Dev. is checked. Dev is not developer mode, its DEVICE! This may be completely off, but it worked for me and hopefully it works for you. I know the frustration of spending hours clicking a test speech event and nothing coming out.

Reviving this again as I am still not able to get this to work. I see the player updated with the URL where the file is stored and I don't see any errors in the logs (I do see the audio being sent), but the player never plays the file. It does pause the music, silence, and plays the music again. Other clients speak the test TTS too.
I am using squeezelite on a Pi for a client if that makes a difference.

Ok. Maybe get a Pi and try? Clearly I am not the only one that paid for this plugin and have a bug, unless you are taking the stance that nothing is wrong?

I use on a Pi and it works, however I use a PiCorePlayer to run Squeezebox on a Pi 3. Try out PiCore, I like it because it doesn't require any head and is super light. It can do most DAC's and never has crashed.

solution for TTS ?
I use four PI3 with Max2play solution. I had exactly the same problem, the music playback was normal on each squeezelite but no TTS. I use HifiBerry amp+ sound cards on each PI to connect wired speakers. I tried to change the output sound of PI3 and it worked for TTS (PI headphone out or bluetooth). Today, I used these settings and it works for TTS on my sound cards that accept MP3 only 44.1 or 48 Hz.
Speaker Client LMS
TTS as MP3
TTS MP3 Lame options --resample 44.1 -b 160
TTS Voice Microsoft Hortense Desktop - French
TTS Additional Speech Duration 1000 Milliseconds
Delay Before Speaking 0 Hours 0 Minutes 2 Seconds
Delay After Speaking 0 Hours 0 Minutes 3 Seconds
I have other problems but I'll post later. PCP, I think you should acquire a PI with this sound card to test your plugin because it's a great solution for multiroom low cost with proper quality.
