how are you going to use that to accomplish turning on from bedside?

to answer your question on how I do it.. I use x10 lamp modules... if HS turns off the lamps... I have to turn them off then back on and the lamp module turns on...

someone posted up of a zwave that does this. I forget which and hope they post it here...

I use a Minimote (button 1) to trigger an event that turns the light on then off after 30 minutes. Works great. I use button 2 to turn music on and off. I really like the minimote. I have 6 of them. I put labels on the back to remind me of what the buttons do. Between the Minimotes and my iPhone I can control everything connected to HS3.

+1 for the zrc-90 units. I have three scattered throughout the house and am considering getting more.

hah now that I think about it. I have one of those x10 desk alarm. used to use it as an alarm (before using smartphone days)... and also used the buttons to do different things. may have to go find it again.

you can do virtual x10 devices (if you have an x10 controller)... and do that as well

just looked.. I may have to sell it. they are going for $50-$70 on ebay!!!!!

I still have a palmpad on the bedside table, but I have an echo dot on there as well. Either one provides control.

I gave away my palm pads years ago when I upgraded to HS3. I should have kept 1 or 2

I use the LightwaveRF scene switches linked via RFXCom. Gives a neat set of 5 buttons that we all have beside our beds. Works well, with a few event/script workarounds.

They come in a few different finishes and with double-sided tape to stick them to the wall/the bedpost/whatever. Battery powered and last well over a year.

                        Cheers,

                        Jon.

Here the master bedroom has 4 automated lights. 3 table lamps are connected to one UPB switch on the wall and one is connected to an automated switch.

The night stands have tabletop HS Touchscreens and lamps (lamps 5 and 6) over each nightstand hotel style. These are controlled by remote switches right on the nightstand and are not automated.

Typically the touchscreens remain in a clock screen saver mode. The screens go off at 9PM and turn on at 9AM unless they are touched. There are touch buttons on them to shut off the screens or control sound or dim the screens.

Many many years ago did utilize X10 touch pads on the night stands and also had reading lamps on the night stands plus over the night stand lamp. Today (must be an age thing) the master bedroom is only utilized to sleep and nothing else.

Nightstands only have touchscreens and house phones. Cell phones are in off mode, not tethering and left in the kitchen / or automobiles. Many many years ago put a physical off switch on any phone lines coming in to the house such that they would not ring at night (it is not there these days).
