So at the beginning of 2018 it was announced that Silicon Labs will purchase the z-wave business from Sigma Designs, who have been the sole proprietor since purchasing it from Zensys in 2008 (afaik).
That purchase was finalised in April this year. I've searched around a little here but can't seem to find much discussion on the topic.

My concern is that Silicon Labs also produce SoCs for ZigBee and BLE, technologies that compete directly with Z-wave. Will Z-wave be given fair treatment by a company that has an established ZigBee portfolio? Or will the best parts of it be adapted into ZigBee and Z-Wave left behind?
What are people's thoughts?
