    Motion Sensor II registering in log but device not updating and events not triggering

    Hi Mark
    I am running version 3.0.6.33 of the Insteon plug in. The motion sensor II is giving me a problem I have not seen before with other devices.
    The occupancy sensor when triggered shows up in the HS3 log. However, the device on the home page is not updated and events are not triggered based on the occupancy sensor changing to Motion or 100.
    I have reset the motion sensor and re-programmed for homeseer. I have pasted the .ini entry below:
    [Device 61]
    DatabaseDelta=25
    DeviceID=4A.65.DF
    DeviceLocation=Back Courtyard
    DeviceName=Entry Fence Motion Sensor 2
    DeviceType=1016
    EEValues=Mode=32,PIRDelay=3,HeartbeatInterval=16,LowBatteryL evel=133,TempCalibration=5,PowerSource=Battery,OpFlags2=32,L EDBrightness=0
    FailedInteractions=23
    FirmwareVer=46
    HopData=10144,9340,688,116
    LastContact=4/27/2018 10:36:30 PM

    LinksDownloaded=1
    NumLinks=7
    PollingInterval=0
    Protocol=3
    RecentDatabaseDelta=25
    TotalInteractions=159

    Here is an example of a log entry that doesn't register as a device change or a trigger:

    May-06 3:22:23 AM Insteon Received Back Courtyard Entry Fence Motion Sensor 2 Occupancy Sensor: (4A.65.DF) Go ON

    I do note that the heartbeat/temperature entries do update in the device page.

    Lastly, I have found that the Night Only triggers all the time and not just during night time. That could be because my dusk/dawn sensor is not updating. Perhaps I have a bad piece of hardware on top of the issues mentioned above.
    Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
    Kind regards
    Jono

      Jono,

      with detailed logging enabled, do you see the plugin trying to set the hs device value after Insteon Received msgs? Please post a detailed log snippet of the plugin processing the ON

      what trigger are you using with the MS II?

      the night mode gets set after its programmed in to the MS with a received On msg. you can force programming, by pressing the set btn on the ms and you should see the programming in the log.

      any chance you are running out of link space in your plm? have you used the 'display interface links' to see where you're at? maybe the plm isn't getting the links required

        Hi Mark, thanks for the fast response. I have 805 links, which I don't think is too many. I have tried just about all of the triggers including the "changes and becomes" and "value set to". I have also tried "value set and greater than". None of them seem to trigger.

        I have set the logging to detailed and will report on that as soon as I get an ON trigger.

        As for the Night Only, I have done the proper programming, but the hardware seems to send the signals day and night. I don't know if that means the hardware is bad, or there is something in the latest software version that isn't programming the hardware properly. My guess is it is the hardware, otherwise other message board members would be reporting the same issue.

        Thank you for your time and interest.

                    for the night only mode, did you capture a log showing the settings getting updated after an receiving an ON?

                      I got this:
                      Motion Sensor 4A.65.DF settings programmed successfully.
                      But it still triggers even though it is daytime

                        I will have the event set the MS II back to zero (no motion) and see if that makes a difference

                            Jono,
                            you should be receiving Off msgs.

                            but you can use hs.setdevicevalue in a script to change the value; this this shouldn't be necessary
