    Restore Zee2 to factory default?

How should i proceed to reinstall the Zee2 back to factory default? What image to use etc?

    I tried this:
    1. Plug in a monitor and keyboard to your Zee.
    2. Restart your Zee and wait for the prompt that says For recovery mode, hold Shift.
    3. Once the restore loads, a screen will load shortly allowing you to select the Zee S2 Factory Image.
    4. Select the Factory Image and click Install at the top left.
    5. Once finished click OK and your Zee will reboot.
But i never see this message when restarting/rebooting... Is there another way of doing this?

See if the :911 port will allow you to select that option.

bummer. Thats a nice option to have.

If you're comfortable with PuTTY, you can SSH to the box and see if there is a factory.sh script in the HS folder.

I know putty. But not sure how to run that file if I found it. How would I proceed?

          EDIT:

          I did find a factory.sh file under /usr/local/HomeSeer

But how can i run this from putty?

login to your Zee2 as user root.
            cd /usr/local/HomeSeer
            ./factory.sh

I would make a backup and ensure this is what you want to do. Note that this will just reset HS back to Factory defaults. The Linux image will remain untouched.

That didn't seem to do much at all. all is still there.

Yeah, something must have changed with the Zee2 since the Zee. You might need to call HS and ask them how to best factory reset it.

Seems like the best solution would be to write over a new image to the SD card on the unit. Only then will it be 100% back to factory.
