Nothing in the syslog. Help wanted. Please.

    Hi All,
What I would like to do.

When a phone handset is lifted or replaced would like to trigger an event.

I have a freePBX server that is a work in progress. The FreePBX server has Grandstream GXP 2000 phones connected to it. These phones allow you to enter a syslog path (see attached). I have pointed the phone, just 1 to test towards 192.168.1.123:514 which is my HS3 server and have set the phone to DEBUG but nothing appears in the syslog. I have enabled syslog logging in the plugin.

Any help setting this up so as I can see the logging would be appreciated as this sort of thing is out of my comfort zone.

    Thanks in advance .

      Solved

      Hi All,
If I would have known how to fix it, it would have been simple.

Turned the firewall off on FreePBX but it made no difference, logged in to my HS server to see a firewall message, set it to allow blocked port and all is well.

Easy when you know how! I don't.

          Great Plugin

          Firstly,

          Thanks Ultra for the reply.

Downloaded the plugin just to see if I could get some information from my asterisk phones. Really not a networking or Linux person so was a little dubious as to whether anything would work, I should not have worried it's great for what I need can fire of an event with ease when an on/off hook condition happens with one of my phones.
Will definately be buying the plugin.

Just wondering what do others use it for especially the syslog bit.

          Thanks again.
