    So, the HST Thermostat API, is largely undocumented. In fact, technically, there is no Thermostat API. The sample program with the HS SDK is incomplete when it comes to thermostat device creation. So, you're left with lots of debugging in Visual Studio to examine each device as its created to see if the types are set right. @Shill had a great post on his experience and it was invaluable.

    I now have the stock HSTouch app working with HAI thermostats. This works great for a new thermostat. Now, I have to put code in to fix existing thermostats. The good news is that the device type should be fairly easy to fix and wont require any devices to be removed/replaced.
