    Installation Problem

    HSPro: v2.5.0.23
    VWS Plugin: v2.2.0.32
    ----------
    VWS: 14.01p46

I have the good ol' original 2.2.0.0 which was free and works perfectly on my old setup. But I'd like to support the effort here and I'm willing to purchase the plugin but my initial experience here isn't very promising.

    1) Regardless of what changes I make on the configuration page they are never saved.
    2) The variables are never properly created, I only get maybe 1/2 of them and recreate appears to do nothing.
    3) Someone else already mentioned the warnings the call to "status" being depreciated in the HS log.

So what's the status of this plugin, the forum seems to be active. This is a clean install on Windows 7 64-bit....

here is all I have from the vws.log:

This is very weird... looking at the log files above I changed the paths to have "\\" instead of a single "\" .... There seems to be some very basic problem going on here.

Also, the variables that created properly "_1" though "_38" appear to be loading fine but the variables without a descripiton "_39" - "`7" area blank.

I'll add a new wrinkle then, I'm using Google Chrome as the browser, not IE.

And the variable for the server is complaining about the csv file being out of date (~9:36pm ET), but the variables are being updated (~10:11pm ET). Weird...

As I continue to hack this problem...

I can manually edit the vws.ini file and it appear to be fine, but the web interface doesn't work.

Also, the csv file is polled but it keeps complaining it's old when in reality it's just fine.

Wx Date: **CSV Data OLD** 12/19/2011 9:56:00 PM Wx Station VWS Data Status _1 Import Status Today 10:31:07 PM

I'll probably stop now until I hear something.

I'm hoping to get everything setup again to regulate the thermostats based on our outside temperature. Plus the warnings portion seems interesting...

        Larry,

Assuming at this point you're on vacation....

As I continue to try and deploy this plugin I noticed (stupid me) the device names are in the vws.ini file. So, scrolling down to the first device to fail I notice the only difference is it has a hyphen; Sea-level Barometer. So basically I removed the hyphen and changed the string to "Sea Level Barometer", then clicked the button to recreate the variables. The little circle appeared for the mouse as the page waited for a response that never came. So I clicked on the Status page link and I now have names for all of the devices.

So, I'm now down to the data being deemed out of date. VWS is configured to update the file every 3 second at this time. But the VWS plugin is always claiming the file is ~25 minutes old.

Hopefully you can fixup these issues...

        Thanks!

        - Jeff

Sorry for the delay, I normally go to the forum and click "New Posts" and if any are for me, I go and read...but for some reason I am missing some posts.

Are you still have problems? I will try and pay closer attention to this thread.

          Thanks.
