    ~!~Error~!~Initializing plug-in(2): BLBackup Instance::Object reference not set to a

This started a few days ago after I installed APC's Powerchute which required .Net Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2. I deleted the APC Powerchute, because I'm using the APCUPSD plugin instead.

    Start Up Error:
    Code:
    12/23/2015 12:01:47 AM ~!~Info~!~Plugin BLBackup has connected. IP:127.0.0.1:4581 12/23/2015

    12/23/2015 12:01:47 AM ~!~Plug-In~!~Finished initializing plug-in BLBackup
    On Restart:
this plugin, BLCPU, and BLSecurity are all enabled, but you can't click on the plugin name( not blue).
Next to each plugin it says -"
WARNING: Failed getting InterfaceStatus from [PLUGIN NAME] - the interface was not found in the list of active interfaces, the list may need to be refreshed.

If I disable any one of these plugins and re-enable it, ALL of the plugin become clickable(blue).

Should I delete the .Net Framework 2.

    On HS3 latest released version.
    XP SP3

    Thank you for your help.

Posting this for other Blade faithfuls who can't live without these plugins.

So all my BL plugins had numerous errors on hs start up and plugin management page. When I turned plugin off and on again, everything worked fine.

So the short and sweet solution was to delete the .Net 2 framework. I was hesitant to delete, because deleting something major like this can sometimes cause more problems, but it worked in this case. Just a FYI in case any one else falls in this hole.

Similar issue here today. Did the monthly server updates and shut down HS before I started the updates (lesson learned from last month). When I restarted the server and HS3 started, it had the following error for BLBackup:

10/19/2016 9:10:39 AM ~!~Error~!~Initializing plug-in(2): BLBackup Instance::Object reference not set to an instance of an object.STACK:Server stack trace: Exception rethrown at [0]: at System.Runtime.Remoting.Proxies.RealProxy.HandleReturnMessag e(IMessage reqMsg, IMessage retMsg) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Proxies.RealProxy.PrivateInvoke(Mess ageData& msgData, Int32 type) at HomeSeerAPI.IPlugInAPI.InitIO(String port) at Scheduler.clsHSPI.CheckInterfaces()

I did not add any .Net or change anything. It is using the updated version 2.0.36.0 from earlier in the week.

I also noticed that my security was not working. When I tried to cycle the security plug in, I get an error for it, but BLBackup started up without doing anything... So is there a conflict between them?

What changed in version 2.0.36.0 over version 2.0.33.0?

I have seen this before too
I usually restart HS3 to clear it
          Cheers,

I had the same issue when trying to update to 2.0.36.0. After seeing Blades post about the restart I shutdown everything and restarted my machine and HS and tried the update again. This time it worked just fine.
